高中英语《The Oiympic Games》说课稿

Good morning/afternoon, my dear judges. It is my great honor to stand here to share my teaching interpretation with you, my teaching interpretation contains several parts, now I will introduce to you one by one.


I Analysis of teaching materials
the teaching material is from the reading part of Unit 2 Book 2 of New senior English for China. The topic of today’s lesson is the history of Olympic Games. After learning this lesson, students can be more familiar with the similarities and differences between ancient and modern Olympic Games.

II Analysis of students
My students are high school students, they have studied English for several years and know many words and grammar points, and they can solve some English problems by themselves. But most of them cannot use English well in their daily life and some of them are afraid to communicate using English. In addition, their logical thinking ability is developing, so in this class, I designed some communicative activities and a debate to practice their abilities.

III Analysis of teaching aims
According to analyses of textbook and students, I set the following teaching aims:
Knowledge aims:
Students can be more familiar with the topic of the Olympic Games and know some history of Olympic Games.
Ability aims: 
Students can improve their reading skills in this class, and also, their critical thinking can be improved after this class.
Emotional aims:
Students will be more confident in speaking English after this class and be more proud of their motherland China.

IV Analysis of teaching key points and difficult points
Key points:
to improve students’ reading skills and logical thinking in this class
Difficult Points:
to improve students’ confidence in learning English and be more proud of China.

V Analysis of teaching methods and learning methods
Teaching methods: Task based language teaching methods, communicative approach;
Learning methods: communicative by themselves and critical thinking practices.

VI Analysis of teaching aids
In order to catch students’ attention, I will prepare multi-media as my teaching aids.

VII Analysis of teaching procedures
Step 1 Warm-up and Lead-in
Show a video clip about the Liu Xiang winning Olympic gold medal. And before watching it, ask students two questions: who is the man and why is he so excited after winning? By doing so, I believe the atomsphere of my class is aroused.
Step 2 Pre-reading
Ask students one question, where did Liu Xiang won his Olympic Gold medal. And ask students another question: do you want to know more about the history of Olympic history. By doing this, I can draw my students attention from Liu Xiang into today’s topic.
Step 3 while-reading
In this part, I will ask my students to read the passage twice.
1, Global reading: Ask students to read the passage for the first time, and ask students what is this passage mainly about? And the student can answer the differences and similarities of ancient and modern Olympic Games. By doing so, the fast reading skills of my students can be improved.
2, Detailed reading: Ask students to read the passage for the second time and ask students to write the detailed information about similarities and differences on the blackboard. I will give my students 8 minutes to finish this and then invite some students to come to the stage and write down some answers. Through this activity, the detailed reading skill of my students can be improved.

Step 4 Post-reading
Let students make a debate about the advantage and disadvantage of hosting the Olympic Games. I will divide my students into two groups, the right and the left group, the right group should think reasons to host Olympic Games and the left team should think reasons not to host the Olympic Games. And during their debate, I will write some of their points on the blackboard.

And then I will share their ideas with the whole class again, during this activities I will tell my students to be proud of their motherland because our life is getting better and better. By doing so, the critical thinking ability of my students can be practiced, and the difficult point of my class is achieved.
Step 5 Summary and homework
At the end of my class, I summarize with my students.
As for homework,I’ll ask my students to write an one hundred words article to introduce the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
By doing this, students will be able to know the difficulties and hard works to be done to host Olympic Games.
